Our talented Pre Kindy to Year 6 students put on an unforgettable Christmas Concert this week. It was a fantastic performance from every student, showcasing weeks of rehearsals. Parents, friends, family and staff enjoyed singing and dancing performances from every age group. A very special thank you to all of their teachers too!
Seeing so many families fill our Auditorium to enjoy this special LJBC community event was exciting. Well done students!

Thank you to everyone for an outstanding result at our recent Lap-a-thon.
LJBC raised a total of $10,308 – Another outstanding effort!
Michael, co-founder of House of Hope Africa, will use the generous LJBC donations to build a new classroom at the school in Zambia.
Thank you everyone for your amazing generosity.

SSWA: State Futsal Champions (Boys and Girls)
This term has been a busy one for the Football Academy players, with all Primary and Secondary teams playing in both the SSWA Northern Futsal Championships and State Futsal Championships. Christmas Music in the College

The Flute Choir has a tradition of welcoming Primary students and parents to school with the sounds of Christmas carols during the Flute Choir’s last rehearsal of the year.
This year, the ensemble had the addition of a cello and violin for their Christmas performances in the Primary School. The melodies of Deck the Halls, Jingle Bells, Silent Night, Hark the Herald Angels Sing and We Wish You a Merry Christmas rang out and soon the group had an enthusiastic audience cheering them on. Well done, Secondary Music students, for bringing the Christmas cheer! (And thank you for agreeing to wear the Christmas hats!)

Special Interest Visual Arts Club Workshop

Recently, the Special Interest Visual Arts Club had a monotype printmaking workshop with the Visual Arts Technician, Megan Shaw, who is also a practicing and exhibiting multi-disciplinary artist. The Art Club had some amazing responses to the new process and had the opportunity to apply their developed personal drawing styles. Printmaking is usually done in a series, producing multiple identical prints. Monotype printmaking is an experimental process where one unique print is made. The students used cross-hatching and mark-making to recreate celebrity portraits.

Roll up! Roll up! On Friday 2 December, the circus came to Founders Hall! Clint from Circus Challenge, otherwise known as ‘the circus man,’ visited our Year 7 and 8 Drama students for a specialist incursion. We spent two hours learning circus tricks, including plate spinning, juggling, ‘fire’ twirling, diabolo throwing and balancing. The students had so much fun!

About me
Ever since I was young, I have been drawn to all kinds of sports. So far sport has taken me regionally in planes and buses to compete, next year I will be flying interstate to compete at a National level.
One of the aspects that has motivated me in swimming is to achieve times, first state and now national and eventually my end goal is to achieve Olympic level in swimming.
Next year I am hoping to get involved in other sports that our school has to offer such as netball and athletics. Hopefully one day I will be able to achieve Sport Captain too.
Sports I have participated in in the past:
Football, Surf lifesaving, Athletics, Cross Country, Futsal, Swimming.
Sports I take part in now:

Sport means the world to me. It makes me get out of my comfort zone, makes me be who I am today and drives me to be the best. It’s taught me how to become a leader on and off the pitch and has taught me how hard I must work. Sport is about winning but it’s mostly about giving it your all. Even if you don’t come out on top, you know you’ve done your very best.
