Secondary Inter House Music Eisteddfod





On Thursday 31 August the audience was entertained by a fabulous variety of musical styles and instruments and the performers received invaluable feedback from the highly acclaimed adjudicator, Hillary Keegan. It was a highlight on the Music Department calendar and an event not to be missed.
Congratulations go the following winners:
Year 7-9 Instrumental
First Place to Abigail for her beautiful tone on the trumpet.
Second Place Xander who showcased a polished, high standard on piano.
Year 7-9 Contemporary
First Place to Oliver who rocked out on electric guitar.
Second Place to Nicholas who entertained the audience with song and dance in Proud Mary.
Year 10-12 Vocals
First Place to Michaela who sang with so much expression.
Second Place to Brock with his version of Wild Unchartered Waters.
Ensemble Section
The competition in this category was fierce and the adjudicator acknowledged this by awarding two first places: Nina and Jared, the Year 12 duet combo, and the Year 7 Rock Band comprising of Oliver on guitar, Xander on keys and alto saxophone, Ezra on vocals, Nicolas on keys and Eamon on drums.
Year 10-11 Instrumental
The day concluded with an extraordinary array of talent. Sitar, flute, piano and cello all showcased such different genres and kept the large audience captivated.
Mitaal came second with his musical, jazzy, piano rendition and Lachlan won overall with the gorgeous, light, impeccable Mozart and the robust but sensitive Chopin.
