WAIS Talent Search Program

The College had the privilege of hosting the Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS) last week. A team of experts, with state-of-the-art equipment valued at thousands of dollars, conducted rigorous assessments with our students.
The WAIS Talent Search Program aimed at identifying a new generation of potential Olympic athletes specialising in rowing, cycling, and kayaking. It is worth noting that no prior experience was required, rather, students' capabilities were evaluated to gauge their power, endurance, and potential for future growth, aligning them with the specific requirements for success in these sports.
Approximately 40 of our students participated in this initiative. While the outcomes are currently pending, any students who demonstrate promise will be extended an invitation to further engage with WAIS at their headquarters. This collaboration stands as a significant achievement for the College, considering that only a select dozen schools in Western Australia were chosen for this endeavor.
Congratulations to all participants and who knows, in a few years time we might be watching them at the Olympics!
