Year 10 Drama Production – Girl Who Cried Wolf

On Wednesday 15 May, the Year 10 Drama class performed Girl Who Cried Wolf by Australian playwright Angela Betzien. As part of this production, the students worked to apply voice and movement techniques taught in class to their individual characters as well as the role in the ensemble.
Based on a true story about a girl who faked her own abduction, the play follows Laura Black, a habitual fibber and Catriona Dijon, most popular student at Pleasant Lakes Primary School, who create a web of lies that ends seeing Laura’s dad accused of a crime she made up.
The students really enjoyed workshopping their scenes and exploring the lives of Laura and Catriona. Adding the technical elements of lighting and sound helped bring the production to life together with adding those sequined costumes for the dance number! Well done to the class for pulling together, supporting each other through the rehearsal process and entertaining their audience! The students had a ball performing to their friends and family.
We're looking forward to working on the Valedictory Play in Term 4 to celebrate the Graduating Class of 2019.
