Last week our Japanese and French language students had a cultural experience as part of our Languages Week celebrations at Lake Joondalup Baptist College.

Japanense Students participated in a cultural incursion, where they enjoyed a captivating Taiko drumming performance by Taiko On. After the presentation, students got 'hands-on' in small group workshops, where they learned the art of Taiko drumming. They also crafted hachimaki (Japanese headbands) in honour of the Olympics, embracing a key symbol of Japanese culture.

The French students put their French to good use by ordering crêpes from a native speaker who served them from a food van on campus. They then enjoyed their delicious crêpes while watching the popular award-winning French film ‘Les Choristes’. A very valuable (and yummy!) learning experience for all French students. Bon appétit!
