Several of our vocal students took centre stage last week at the main hall of the historic Perth Town Hall, showcasing their vocal prowess by singing songs from musicals Gypsy, West Side Story, Parade, You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown and Hairspray.

This performance opportunity promotes our students' engagement with the creative arts and elevates their performance skills.

The event titled 'I Can Hear the Bells' has been organised by Jumeirah Music Centre Perth and is proudly supported by a Venue Support Grant from the City of Perth.

Congratulations to Mia, Liliana, Amiya and Jayel!

I am also happy to announce that Liliana won second place in the South Suburban Music Society Eisteddfod. She entered the Vocal Music Theatre competition for 10 and under.

Music Mentor Program

On 24 November, the Year 2 Students were treated to a fabulous performance by one of our Year 9 Music Mentors, Emily. Emily performed some Disney tunes for them and the students enjoyed guessing which movie they came from. They also learnt about the Woodwind Family, how a sound is produced on the flute and its role in the Orchestra. The morning concluded with a flute duet performance of Ode to Joy by Emily and her Flute Tutor, Mrs Shinkfield, followed by question time. The students were very engaged, and we are so proud of Emily for being such an inspiration for the next generation of musicians! We look forward to seeing Emily showcase more of her musical talents and mentoring ability at the end of the year Music Mentor Concert on November 20.
