After an incredible 25 years of devoted service to LJBC, we say farewell to Helen, a beloved colleague, mentor, and friend. Helen began her journey at LJBC in 1999 and has worn many hats with distinction. Some of these roles included teaching PE and Science, serving as Dean of Students and Acting Deputy Principal. She brought commitment, wisdom, and a passion for students with every role.
Helen was instrumental in shaping the College's pastoral care through the creation of the House Centre and was well known for her innovative approach, compassionate leadership, and steady presence in challenging moments. She was always there for students and staff, known as someone you could talk to, who gave thoughtful advice and stood up for you whenever needed. Helen's influence went far beyond her administrative role. She genuinely cared about every "little Johnny," guiding many students along their journeys and proudly celebrating their successes even years after leaving LJBC. She also brought joy and humour to staff life, from adventurous camp stories to moments of laughter in the office.
As Helen embarks on her next chapter, focusing on family and well-earned rest, she leaves a legacy of professionalism, kindness, and love for the LJBC community.
