Year 2 and Year 4 Music Sponsorship Program Concerts

Last week, the Year 2A and 4A classes delighted parents, family, and friends with their end-of-semester concerts as part of the Sponsorship Program. Over the past six months, these students have been learning to play concert band or string instruments as part of their music curriculum. With guidance from our skilled tutors through small group lessons, they developed essential ensemble skills by performing together in class bands. Both concerts were a resounding success, featuring not only the students’ performances but also inspiring showcases by their tutors and exceptionally talented secondary students from the Music Mentor Program. A big thank you to all our music tutors, as well as Mr Troaca and Mrs Shinkfield, for their dedication in preparing the students for these memorable final performances.
College Music Eisteddfod – Save the Date!
We’re thrilled to announce the inaugural whole-school College Music Eisteddfod, running from August 26th to 28th! This exciting event offers students an incredible chance to perform in front of family and peers, demonstrating the dedication and practice invested in mastering their instruments. Participants will also benefit from valuable feedback provided by a professional adjudicator.
Unlike previous years, where Primary and Secondary Eisteddfods were held separately, this year’s event combines both schools over three days and introduces new categories, prizes, and a wider variety of musical opportunities. Categories include soloists, duets, small ensembles, bands, Music Mentors with their Mentees, and a special 'Family Performance Category' where students can invite family members to join them on stage. Start preparing your pieces now and consider teaming up with friends or family for a performance! Application forms are available at the Music Office and Primary Reception. Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to shine!
