Drama Department updates

Year 7 Circus Incursion
On Tuesday June 17, the Year 7 students had a wonderful time learning the creative art of Circus Skills! The students had such a fantastic time learning skills like: Plate spinning, Diablo and Juggling to name a few! We had some incredible student demonstrators, and who knows who we have inspired in new career paths after this enthusiastic workshop! Thank you for organising this fun event Miss Hollis!

Year 8 and 9 Children’s Theatre Performances
On Monday June 16, the Year 8 and 9 drama students performed their versions of modernised/adapted Fairytales for the Year 2 and 3 students. A creative plethora of Little Red Riding Hood with mobile phones, 3 Little Pigs with bling bags and Law and Order a plenty, gave the primary students plenty of giggles and entertainment! Fun was had by all, and I was very proud of all the students' hard work towards this task! Well done everyone! A special thank you to all the Primary Year 2 and 3 teachers for coming to watch, and Miss Hollis for helping.

Year 10 Theatre Combat Incursion
On Monday May 26, the Year 10 students had an action-packed lesson where they learned how to stage fight! It was such a fun lesson filled with slaps, punches and even a few neck cracks! I wouldn’t mess with these year 10s!

Year 11 and 12 Aladdin Jnr Excursion
On Wednesday June 18, Year 11 and 12 students went on an excursion to watch Aladdin Jnr at Caversham Primary School! It was adorable watching the primary students performing with such passion, and seeing the show we are soon to see come to life! It was a fun experience and a chance to get our review writing skills up to scratch at the same time! Thank you to Miss Hopkins for escorting us!

Aladdin Jnr Audition Preparation in Drama Club
Each Monday in Drama Club, students who want to audition for the whole-school musical, ‘Aladdin Jr.' in 2026, are working hard and learning skills to help them. If you would like more information, Audition Packs are available for download in the Student/Parent Café or in notices on the Orbit app and audition forms are available in the Arts Office and Music Office doors and at Primary Reception. Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to shine!
