Year 11 Outdoor Ed Camp - Riding Through the Rain.

Our Year 11 Outdoor Education students recently returned from an adventurous and memorable mountain biking camp in the South West, where they spent four days cycling through the stunning trails around Margaret River and Augusta.
Day One began with a tour ride along the Wadandi Track, leading the group into camp. Despite the wet weather, spirits remained high. An undercover fire pit at the campsite added warmth and a great atmosphere, setting the tone for the rest of the trip.
On Day Two, after a damp night, the students eased into the morning by watching the surf roll in at Surfers Point—spotting pods of dolphins along the way. They then hit the Woddijup Trails, where they pushed through the rain and rode until sunset, drenched but exhilarated.
Day Three saw students visit the starting point of the iconic Cape to Cape Trail and the lighthouse at Augusta, followed by more riding in the pine forests. Determined to make the most of their time, the group revisited trails they had missed the day before, squeezing every moment out of the adventure.
Although storms rolled in overnight, they did little to dampen the group’s enthusiasm. Students showed great resilience, cooking their own meals with confidence and creativity throughout the week. On the final evening, staff treated everyone to a shared dinner, celebrating a successful and rewarding camp.
The experience was a true testament to the students’ positive attitudes and teamwork. Even in the wettest of conditions, they embraced the challenge and made lasting memories on the trails.
