Last Wednesday, 24 of our students participated in a full-day excursion to Royal Perth Hospital to take part in the P.A.R.T.Y. Program (Prevent Alcohol and Risk-Related Trauma in Youth). This powerful and educational experience is designed to help young people understand the real-life consequences of risky behaviours, particularly those related to driving.

Throughout the day, students heard firsthand accounts from trauma surgeons, paramedics, and survivors of road accidents and spinal injuries. They also toured key areas of the hospital, including the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit, gaining a sobering insight into the impact of trauma.

In addition to these eye-opening sessions, students had the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning through basic first aid and physiotherapy activities. The day was both informative and impactful, equipping students with knowledge and perspectives that will stay with them as they approach adulthood and increased responsibilities.
