Book Week
On Friday 21 August the students in the Primary School celebrated Book Week with a parade in the auditorium. Each year, schools and public libraries across Australia spend a week celebrating books and Australian authors and illustrators. The Book Week theme 'Curious Creatures, Wild Minds' was explored during library lessons. Students also decorated the library by filling in creature paw prints once they had finished reading a book. The paw prints roam across the library walls and ceiling, creating a great visual celebrating how many books students have enjoyed. Many wonderful books about fantasy creatures in line with the theme were read and enjoyed. The series 'Wings of Fire' by Tui Sutherland has been very popular amongst the students.
It was wonderful to see many book characters and curious creatures come to life as the students in the Primary School paraded their costumes for us all to see.
