RU OK DAY

Thursday 10 September is the national ‘RU OK’ Day. To highlight this, we held a pikelet 'cook-up' for all Secondary students outside the Chaplaincy Office, asking ‘RU OK’ and handing out Lifeline cards.
'RU OK' Day is a good time to reflect on how you are travelling, and also asking those around you. Looking out for a friend, or even someone you might not know so well, and asking them the question ‘RU OK’, can be life-changing.
Some basic tips from the ‘RU OK’ website are below:
https://www.ruok.org.au/how-to-ask
- Ask – take the time to ask someone how they are really going.
- Listen – be open to listening non-judgementally.
- Encourage action – encourage them to take the next step, ie contacting a psychologist, visiting a website like Lifeline, visiting the doctor for a free mental health plan etc.
- Check-in – check back with them again to see how they are going.
Have a great fortnight, and pray that you and yours are ‘OK’.
