Wonder and Awe in Pre Primary

As part of our ‘Wonder and Awe’ block this week in PP.3, the children paired up with their special Year 10 Buddies from the Children, Family and Community class. We witnessed a beautiful display of learning, encouragement and friendship between our ELC and Secondary school. They helped us to construct creations out of LEGO, build train sets, and assist us with our yarn sticks.
To celebrate spring, we started off the week of ‘Wonder and Awe’ with a practical life skill-flower arranging. The children never tire of flower arranging, and I never tire of observing their appreciation of beauty and care for their own environment. The children choose and cut native flowers donated by parents, then fill vases with water independently and choose a spot around the room to display their artwork.
See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land. Song of Songs 2:11-13
