Chaplain’s Corner
Welcome to Term 1! What an interesting start to term it has been, our thoughts and prayers going out to those affected by the bushfires, as well as continuing prayers for a stop to COVID-19.
There are many exciting things coming up this year from the Christian Education/Chaplaincy Department.
First up: a new/familiar face in the Chaplaincy Office.
We are thrilled to have Mrs Schroeder return to LJBC after her second maternity leave. She will be joining us in the Chaplaincy Office on Thursdays and Fridays, teaching Christian Education, Wellbeing and helping in the LEC. Come and say hello, she would love to have a chat!
Mr Harris will be continuing in Term 1 as Acting Head of Christian Education, and Mr Wayman as Chaplain/D&T teacher. Mrs Butchart will be returning in Term 2 as a private study/Christian Education teacher. Mr Wong will be in her position for Term 1.
We have our Chaplaincy Captains; Lunae and Joseph who will be running Chips and Chat, as well as helping out in Chaplaincy, so look out for them this year. Jericho will also be helping out.
I will be continuing as Chaplain/Christian Education teacher. My days this year are Thursday/Friday, so if you are needing some support this year, or just would like to meet up for a chat, please DM me and we can schedule a time.
Year 7 Camp, Year 12 Ball, Swimming Carnival and Mothers Day are all big parts of Semester 1 that we are involved in. We are hoping we get to celebrate these fun events with you.
Chips and Chat guys and girls catch up groups will be on once school opens, check out the notices for information about this. These are a great opportunity to meet new people, have some fun and eat delicious chips together.
Friday Live will continue for Year 7 to 8 and Year 9s will have a brand new, hybrid Friday Live program. We love this way of doing Christian Education together, its fun and we learn more about God together.
Remember the Chaplaincy Office is open at recess and lunch every day for you to heat up your lunch, or play a game/do a puzzle and have a chat.
Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to see you all this week, but looking forward to seeing you all soon!
