I would like to take this opportunity to introduce a new member of our Arts team. Mrs Erin Knight will be team teaching with me this year in Visual Arts. Erin will be filling Mrs Gray's position whilst she has taken a year’s leave to pursue her artistic career. I have known Erin for many years and she is looking forward to contributing to this wonderful Arts Department in 2021. Erin spent the last 10 years lecturing and tutoring at the Graduate School of Education in Visual Arts education at the University of Western Australia, and prior to this position was an art teacher and Head of Design and Technology at All Saints College. She is very excited to be teaching at Lake Joondalup Baptist College this year and looks forward to meeting the students and parents.

Other exciting news is that we will be making another mural for the College grounds this year and the Year 11 Visual Arts students will be involved in designing and creating it. On the calendar are several incursions to complete the mural, an excursion to the new WA Museum and excursion to the Art Gallery of WA to see the Year 12 Perspectives Exhibition later in the year.

We are also starting a new co-curricular special Visual Arts club. Parents, please look out for a letter inviting your son/daughter to join us, launching in Term 1 Week 3.
