Primary Japanese

In Japan, 5 May is Children’s Day.
On this day in Japan colourful Koinobori carp kites are flown to represent parents’ hopes for their children to grow up brave and strong like the carp who can swim upstream against the current. They also display kabuto samurai helmets in their homes. In the LJBC Primary, Japanese classes participated in a range of activities to mark this special day. Our younger students flew carp kites on the oval while some of our older students made origami samurai helmets and others made special hanging mobiles. It was a memorable week for our students.
