Gifted and Talented Program
Australian Computational and Linguistics Olympiad (OzCLO)
Our OzCLO students did exceptionally well this year. We had 64 students from Years 9-12 competing to decipher and translate codes from all over the world. Well done to our students who took on the challenge!
We are very proud of Year 11 students Esther, Harry, Josh, and Venetia, who won the State Senior Division. They were invited to represent Western Australia in the National Competition and received a silver certificate.
da Vinci Decathlon
The da Vinci Decathlon is a very challenging and prestigious competition in which our students had to complete complex tasks in 10 different subject areas, namely Science, Mathematics, English, Art and Poetry, Engineering, Drama, Ideation, Cartography, Codebreaking and General Knowledge. Many top schools in Perth attended this competition at the University of Western Australia.
The Year 7 team came 1st in the Art and Poetry category, 2nd in Codebreaking, and 3rd in General Knowledge.
The Year 8 team came 1st in Art and Poetry and 3rd in Codebreaking.
The Year 9 team placed 3rd in the General Knowledge category.
The Year 10 team placed 2nd in Art and Poetry and 3rd in Engineering.
We are very pleased with the great effort by these students.
