ACC Cross Country

Our Year 7-12 Cross Country team recently participated in the ACC Cross Country at Perry Lakes Reserve. Students from 84 ACC affiliated schools across Western Australia attended the event to represent their schools.
Although many students were unable to attend due to injury, we had 62 athletes compete on the day. It was pleasing to see the majority of our year groups with maximum numbers of 6 males and 6 females and our senior students commit to the competition by travelling to the event after attending their classes in the morning.
Our U/13 girls were the first to race with our girls setting the competitive bar for the day. Kiera and Nicola ran an outstanding race to place 2nd and 5th respectively in their race. Other impressive performances came from Ben 2nd, James 3rd and Matthew 7th in the U/14 boys. Luke added to his impressive results in 2021 by placing 2nd in the U/16 boys and Tayla ran well to finish 6th in the Senior Girls race.
The sun continued to shine and Lake Joondalup Baptist College continued to place well in each race contributing to our consistent performances throughout the competition. At the end of the day, LJBC won shields for the U/14 Champion Team, Senior Girls Champion Team and finished 9th overall for the day.
Congratulations to our All Stars nominees; Kiera, Nicola, Ben, James and Luke who will be formally recognised at the Sports Awards Evening on Friday 12 November.
