At the start of this year, Year 11 Visual Art students were given a brief to research into plants that are native to the Joondalup area.

We discussed the inextricable links between the land, it’s uses and the first nations people that inhabited this area. We were able to utilise some of the outstanding resources the City of Joondalup has developed to begin our research.

The overall focus of this project was to create a collaborative design where all the students could contribute to a large scale mural for the College.

We have an amazing cohort of Year 11 Visual Art students this year and all of the students in this class created beautiful work and a good handful of designs were chosen to be entered into the Celebrating Joondalup, Joondalup Art Awards.

We were so very pleased that both Chanel and Georgia were awarded and highly commended for their entries.
