LJBC Chaplaincy - Destiny Rescue
Throughout the month of December, LJBC has been privileged to host sessions for all Year 10 students through Destiny Rescue as part of our Christian Education program. Darren Reynolds spoke to us about their mission: “to rescue children from sexual exploitation and human trafficking and help them stay free.”
He shared with us some troubling statistics: over 1 million children are exploited by sex trafficking, 70% of children trafficked are from the Asia Pacific region and $99 billion is generated by sex traffickers each year – $11 million every hour. Darren confronted us with the reality of huge efforts in recent times to locate a missing child in Western Australia, and encouraged us to remember that every child in human trafficked situations is valuable and deserves to also be rescued.
In response, we have encouraged Year 10 students to take action via fundraising through a walk (or run!), and are asking people to sponsor them to do this. The link for this worthy cause is below.

We greatly appreciate the time Darren took to educate us on this pertinent global issue.
