The Year 12 Ball is an occasion many look forward to years prior and for the class of 2022, we were lucky enough to experience it on 25 January. Although there were a few hiccups with the venue, we celebrated at the Hillarys Yacht Club. This location overlooked the marina, which made for stunning sunset shots. We entered on a red carpet, true to the theme of ‘A Night with the Stars’, greeted by delicious mocktails and of course, our wonderful teachers. The night started with speeches from both Josh and I, welcoming back the students from a long, restful holiday. The staff then served an appetising three-course meal, consisting of an entrée of pasta, a main of either chicken or beef followed by a tasty chocolate tart to finish it off. 

Of course, the highlight of any ball is the outfits! They had to be captured and thankfully for us, we had brilliant photographers to do so. The photo booth was another hit with the cohort as it allowed us to let loose and take some silly snaps. After all the photos were taken, finally we could let our hair down and for the girls, take our shoes off and get onto the dance floor.

Some awards were given out at the end of the night to bring attention to some of the ‘Stars’. These included:

• Best Dancers: Isaac & Isabella
• Best Couple: Noah & Chanel
• Miss Congeniality: Tayla
• Belle and Beau: Venetia & Ethan

All in all, it was an amazing night and I’m sure the memories will stay with us forever.
