From the Dean of Studies
Welcome back to all students. We are so excited to see everyone here and the smiles around the Campus. The first few days of school brings about the natural settling in of school and all that encompasses. Some students are new, especially our new Year 7 cohort, and this brings things like finding their classrooms, navigating a bigger campus for the first time and getting used to having a different teacher for each of their lessons. This is all part of school life and soon everyone will be settled, ready to embark upon a year of learning across the different learning areas.
It is important to know that each staff member, as well as each student’s teacher, wants to support every student to be at their best and enjoy their learning experience here at LJBC. If there are any issues or even just an answer to a question, reach out to the teacher and Heads of Learning Areas. They are only an email, phone call or Direct Message away to help make this year a great learning journey for each student.
We do have a few Curriculum Information Evenings happening over the next couple of weeks that you might want to mark on your calendar:
- February 8, Year 11 Information Evening 7.00pm in the Auditorium
- February 16, Year 10 Information Evening 7.00pm in the Auditorium
Both evenings are important information evenings. These evenings help both parents and students begin to understand the importance of understanding how to navigate both Year 10 and Year 11 in regards to secure individual learning opportunities that will lead to post high school study, apprenticeship or out into the work force, regardless of pathway.
We hope all students have the best start to the new academic year and if students or parents need assistance with Curriculum - teaching and learning, please reach out to the Curriculum Team for assistance.
