Chaplain’s Corner
It’s been an exciting start to the year for the Chaplaincy Department. Attending the Year 12 Ball was a highlight, seeing every one dressed up and celebrating together was a great start to Year 12.
We have enjoyed getting to know our new Year 7 students; Chaplaincy Captains have been visiting all Year 7 Connect classes to share a devotion and to connect with our new LJBC students. Lots of fun was had at Outback Splash and during our 'get to know you day' activities at Camp Kerem. Steven Wayman (Secondary Chaplain) and myself shared a short parable about the Prodigal son, and the lost coin, emphasising the value of each student to God and to LJBC. We then played some games (re-enacting the prodigal son, and finding the ‘lost coin’) together, with lots of prizes.
Chips and Chat has begun at lunchtime, all Year 7 students are invited to attend in Room 12 – Tuesday for the boys and Thursday for the girls. It has been enjoyable eating chips and chatting about the transition to Secondary College life, forming new friendships.
Students/parents are welcome to connect with the Chaplains via email or phone call if they would like extra support for students at the College.
We are looking forward to a great second half of Term 1!
