ACC Swimming Carnival

Due to restrictions, the ACC Swimming Carnival was run in year groups in 2022. Each affiliated school was able to enter a restricted number of competitors from each year group, provided they met the qualifying times set by the ACC.

Unfortunately, due to the restricted competitor numbers and qualifying times, many students who would usually have been selected for the Inter-School team were unable to attend the event. Qualifying times were taken from the Inter-House Carnival and other club events for students who were unable to swim on the day.

Students selected for the team represented the College with pride and achieved some outstanding results, which saw LJBC finish 4th in the boys, 10th in the girls and 7th out of 37 schools overall.

Congratulations to the following swimmers who achieved All Star nominations for their performances at the Inter-School carnivals:

Year 12 Tom received 6 nominations for each individual event and the 4 x 50m relay. Tom also won overall Champion Boy which is an amazing effort and will receive ACC Letters at the Sport Awards Evening.

Year 11 Georgia received 2 nominations for 50m breaststroke and 4 x 50m relay and 3rd place overall.

Year 10 Ethan received 2 nominations for 50m freestyle and 4 x 50m relay.

Year 7 Freya 50m breaststroke.

Shoutouts to Ethan in Year 12 and Daisy in Year 7 who finished 5th in their age groups.

The LJBC sporting community are super proud of our students’ achievements. We understand the dedication and commitment required to accomplish these results against some of the best swimmers in the state and encourage you to continue to train hard for future events.

LJBC will compete in the ACC B Division Carnival in 2023, provided all restrictions are lifted and we are looking forward to our athletes continuing to excel at this carnival.
