The Starlight Foundation aims to brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families. For a number of years now Batavia and Arcadia Houses have supported the foundation through our annual Starlight Day event, which this year was held on Thursday of week 10. As with so many things, we had to change the day somewhat to make sure the event was as Covid-safe as possible – with a real team effort from Student Councillors and Connect teachers, we had fantastic support and participation for this worthy cause. Students were able to go uniform free for a donation, order a sausage sizzle and drink and make guesses as to how many jellybeans were in the jars in the hope of winning it for themselves. Congratulations to Weylin in 10B and Charis in 9W, who won the jars with the closest guesses. The day was a great success and I am proud to say resulted in a total of $1400.70 raised to support the Starlight Foundation. Well done everyone and thanks for your contribution!
