The Primary Library is always an exciting place to visit. This Term we are celebrating Book Week. The theme for 2022 is ‘Dreaming with Eyes Open’. The theme is about stepping into your own story, dreaming with eyes open, listening to country as the first storyteller, learning from friends who help you on the way. The Library has been set up to provide three different spaces, all relating to the theme that the students can use at lunchtime.

The big four poster bed is a space where the students can come and read. Reading IS dreaming with our eyes open. Reading is the connection between authors - the storytellers and readers, and how their words capture a reader’s imaginations. A vivid imagination turns dreams into a reality prompted by well-crafted words that jump off the page.

In our Dreamtime Space we have set up some collaborative weaving and a puzzle. Students can come and add fabric and wool to our weaving chair. It is a space to share stories and connect with one another.

Our Alice in Wonderland space invites students to read a book and fall into another world.

Our Makers Space encourages imagination as students can see their dreams become a reality. The space has provided many opportunities for the students to be creative and have fun together.
