Primary Library Book Week

The Children’s Book council of Australia (CBCA) Book Week is always an exciting event in the school calendar. It promotes reading and writing as well as an appreciation of books.
The 2022 theme 'Dreaming with eyes open' invites us to consider the meaning of the word 'dreaming'. The word 'dreaming' evokes notions of the past, present and future.
Our dress up parade provides us with a chance to think creatively and allows students to have positive connections to books. It gives students the permission to pretend, have fun and celebrate books and reading. Book Week also helps create a culture of reading in schools and helps children fall in love with reading.
Our Library monitors were amazing, leading our parade with an item based on Alice in Wonderland. All of the characters were from two famous books full of imagination. The books were written over a hundred years ago by Lewis Carroll. In the past century thousands and thousands of children and adults have read and enjoyed these books about Alice and the characters she meets. The adventure down the rabbit hole was engaging and entertaining.
Enjoy the colorful, creative photographs of the costumes worn by our students.
