Over the past ten weeks, the Year 10 Drama classes have been immersed into the world of Shakespeare. With Romeo and Juliet as our set text, the students have been learning all about iambic pentameter, the role theatre played in Elizabethan society and how to translate all those doths, thous and thees into modern day English.

Our study has culminated in a two class production of Drop Dead Juliet which they performed to each other. We meet Juliet who has had enough! No more poison, stabbing or dying. She wants less death and more girls in the story. Not everyone’s so keen with the changes, including the author! The Year 10s worked hard to memorise lines, learn dances and know their hither from their thither! A big congratulations to the Year 10s for creating an entertaining performance.
