In the last week of Term 1, Year 10 iSTEM students attended the Resources Technology Showcase held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC).

Students got an opportunity to interact with some of the amazing technologies that are driving the mining, resources, defence and space industries in WA.

The day started with a visit to Supreme Court Gardens, where students got up close to some of the world’s smartest mining machines. We then made our way to the PCEC where some of WA’s largest resource mining companies including BHP, Rio Tinto, Woodside, and Chevron put on a showcase that allowed students to experience a behind-the-scenes look at the technology that is transforming the resources sector. As part of this, students were able to interact with the latest tech including world-class virtual reality, drones, robots and of the extraordinary innovation that is being developed and used across Western Australia.

It was a great day that enabled our students to immerse themselves in the technology that is shaping the jobs of tomorrow.
