Today is World Teachers’ Day, a special occasion to recognise and appreciate the incredible dedication and hard work of all those who work in schools and contribute to the transformative power of education. On behalf of the whole College and LJBC community, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to each and every one of you. Being a teacher or education assistant is not an easy task; it requires tremendous emotional and physical commitment. However, the impact you have on the lives of students is profound and the rewards are immeasurable. On this day, may you be especially blessed as you continue to make a difference. Keep up the exceptional work!

What a week to remember! Our incredible Year 12 students enjoyed a week of Valedictory celebrations, including a friendly game of dodgeball against the teachers and a special water event. From there, we honoured their hard work and achievements in a heartwarming celebration assembly, reminiscing about their journey and the memories they've created. A delicious morning tea with their teachers, provided by our Year 11 hospitality students, followed this.
Finally, Monday evening culminated in a glamorous and elegant formal dinner, marking the end of this chapter with style and grace.
Congratulations to our graduates, you've made us proud!

The LJBC Wellbeing Days focus on the holistic development of students, nurturing their mental and physical Wellbeing. The students can spend the day away from the traditional classroom and enjoy fun activities with their friends, improving their overall mental and physical health.
At the Wellbeing Day, our Year 10s were excited when learning a new skill like African drumming and a little too competitive when it came to Laser Tag, Basketball, Volleyball, Table Tennis and Dodgeball. These activities not only help with physical fitness but also reduce stress, improve concentration, and create a positive mindset. The laughter and camaraderie confirmed the importance of these days in the school calendar.
As well as physical activities, the Year 10s also had group sessions with Dr Mandie Shean, who discussed the pivotal themes of resilience, coping strategies, and the importance of fostering meaningful relationships. Dr Shean emphasised the vital role of resilience in navigating life's challenges, encouraging students to develop effective coping mechanisms to overcome obstacles with grace and determination.

Wonder Hour is a magical and enchanting time of day when the world seems to slow down, and the ordinary becomes extraordinary, bringing a sense of wonder.
During Wonder Hour, children often find themselves pausing to appreciate the beauty around them, which God created. It's a time to reflect, dream, and connect with the world in a more profound way, embracing the extraordinary in the seemingly ordinary moments of life.
Wonder Hour allows children to explore their curiosity. This year, we have been focusing on the practical life skill of sewing with Mrs Needham, with the help of Mrs Woodcock. The Year 4 girls designed, painted and machine sewed beautiful prayer flags. They are a wonderful testament to their determination to learn new skills and bring glory to God. They are a reminder of how we are covered in The Word of God at Lake Joondalup Baptist College.
